What is Radon?
Radon is a cancer-causing natural radioactive gas that you can't see, smell, or taste. In the home, it is a potentially dangerous substance that homeowners need to be aware. In fact, Radon is the leading cause of lung cancer among non-smokers. In the U.S., radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer and claims about 20,000 lives annually. The U.S. Surgeon General recommends that ALL homes be tested for radon. In particular, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recommends that all homes (new or used) being bought or sold be tested for radon.
